As a first step in increasing engagement of IT leadership in planning and decision-making efforts in every UI unit, an IT leader or representative is being identified for each area. To involve functional and technical expertise in collaboration with unit-level operational efforts, efforts to shape and market the IT Project Management Office continue. In addition to providing project-management expertise and assistance, the ITPMO helps guide projects from all units through the governance process for visibility and coordination. In support of the strategy to invest in tools, skills, and processes to develop, understand, and manage relationships and partnerships on campus, opportunities for training staff on the ITIL service-management framework are being explored.
