On May 31, the OneIT Operations Team approved the closeout of a project focused on leveraging identity and access-management (IAM) solutions to provide more efficient and supportable campus services through consolidation, standardization, and best practices.
The OneIT HR Process Project achieved closeout as the team reported out on completion of the skills inventory sub-project. Nearly 500 OneIT staff completed the skills inventory, which provided a more accurate, complete view of the skills and technical interests of IT professionals at UI.
As the Extended Technical Support (ETS) team grows to serve more units on campus, a “team lead” approach has been adopted to provide structure and to spread out supervisory responsibilities. ETS recently named four more team leads.
More than 1,400 telephone numbers have been migrated to Skype for Business, and dozens of units will convert from traditional phones to the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solution in the months ahead.
